Welcome to Heritage At Home, a baking blog from Heritage Organic Cakes!

I started Heritage Organic Cakes in July of 2014 with the desire to make organic cakes for anyone looking for something fresh and preservative-free.  I wanted my cakes to reflect both the traditional use of all-natural ingredients (before hydrogenating fats was possible), as well as modern tastes and styling.  My promise was to never sell anything I wouldn't want to share with my family.

A few months ago, I put the bakery on hold with the birth of my son.  But I love baking and still want to be able to share my love with others.  So I started this blog to inspire you bake alongside me!  I've always been interested in teaching and sharing my recipes, so I'm thrilled to finally get the chance.

My aesthetic is the same as it's always been, but now I have the creative freedom to bake anything I want - not just cake!  And since I love encouraging others to spend more time in the kitchen, I'll post detailed recipes so that you can enjoy my recipes at home.

I'll admit now that I love making things from scratch and don't enjoy taking too many shortcuts.  I thrive on the sense of accomplishment after finishing something that took a lot of TLC.  Everything seems to just taste that much better when its homemade.  Not everything I post will be a labor love; there will be a healthy mix of quick treats and weekend projects.  But if I post something that seems fairly time-consuming, I promise that it'll be worth it in the end!

I hope you enjoy what I have to share, and I hope it inspires you to go into the kitchen and get creative!  Baking is truly the tastiest of art forms.
